When using SAS Enterprise Miner, the diagram that you attempt to open might be locked. Or, your diagrams might continue to run even after you select the Stop icon, or after you restart SAS Enterprise Miner.

SAS Enterprise Miner locks diagrams only when they are currently in use. However, a previous session might have terminated without releasing the lock so that you need to manually break the lock.

If the diagram is locked, then "this diagram is currently locked" appears in a pop-up window. If you attempt to open the locked diagram, then the following message appears:

 This diagram is currently locked by <userid>.

To release the lock <userid> must close the diagram or you must delete the lock file on the SAS server:

<Project Path\Project Name>\Workspaces\EMWS1\System\wsopen.lck
 

Proceed with caution! If you try to delete the wsopen.lck file while <userid> still has the diagram open, then this message might appear:

A problem has been encountered on the server

Delete *.lck files only if you know that the diagram is locked unintentionally.

To release the lock, you might also need to delete the wsrun.lck file.
