An error might occur when you do all of the following:

• Use a SAS procedure with the ODS PDF destination with custom margin settings.
• Specify JUSTIFY=RIGHT on the TITLE or FOOTNOTE statement.
• Use a BY statement.

As a result, an error similar to the following occurs:

Workaround

Note that the amount of space the FOOTNOTES need does not fit the space available. To circumvent the issue, do either of the following:

• Change the margins to increase the space available for the FOOTNOTES or reduce the required space.
• Remove the custom margin settings from the code.
• Do not specify JUSTIFY=RIGHT on the TITLE or FOOTNOTE statement.
