The error "The diagram execution could not be started..." occurs when you run a flow in SAS® Enterprise Miner™

When you run a flow in SAS® Enterprise Miner, the following error might occur:

Server Error
The diagram execution could not be started.
Please make sure all necessary services are enabled and running on the server.

The error occurs when you use the SAS® Deployment Wizard to create an additional workspace server, but you do not follow the required manual post-installation steps.

For more information about adding an additional application–server context, see the SAS® 9.3 Intelligence Platform: Application Server Administration Guide.

After the server is added, complete these manual post-installation steps.

  1. Log on to SAS® Management Console with the sasadm@saspw account.
  2. Select Application Management ► Configuration Manager ► SAS Application Infrastructure ► Web Infrastructure Platform Services 9.3 ► Job Execution Services. In the JobExecutionServices Properties dialog box, click the Settings tab.
  3. In the Configure Execution Queues from Available Server Contexts section, move the new workspace server from the Available text box to the Selected text box.
  4. Remove the check from the check box next to Enable for interactive execution?, as shown below.

  5. Restart SAS Remote Services and your web application server (JBoss, IBM WebSphere, or Oracle WebLogic).

Note: For SAS 9.4 SAS Enterprise Miner versions, you need to restart the SASServer1_# and SASServer11_# if it exists.

After you complete the manual steps, you can use the newly added workspace server to run your diagram.

For more information about adding an additional workspace server, see SAS®Enterprise Miner 13.2 Administrator and Configuration.

For information about SAS 9.4 releases, see SAS Note 65238: "The error 'The diagram execution could not be started...' occurs when you run a flow in SAS® Enterprise Miner™".
