The Application menu might display some entries in Finnish when the browser's default language is set to Estonian

In SAS applications on the SAS® Viya® platform, you can control the language of the application by changing the browser's default language. For example, if you set your browser's default language to Italian, then SAS® Visual Analytics or SAS® Environment Manager and other applications are displayed in Italian.

However, there are some exceptions. Some languages that can be set as the browser's default language do not contain a SAS localization. If the SAS Application does not contain a localization in one specific language, even if your browser's default language is set to this language, the SAS application is still displayed in English.

Considering the scenario above, the following problem has been identified when setting the browser's default language to Estonian.

In details, if you set the browser's default language to Estonian, then some entries in the SAS application menu for some SAS applications (for example, SAS Visual Analytics or SAS Environment Manager) might be displayed in Finnish.

The following image shows this problem:

Analytics Life Cycle

The correct behavior is that all entries should be displayed in English (and not in Finnish) because the Estonian language does not have a SAS localization currently.

To circumvent this issue, if you want to set the browser's default language to Estonian, complete the following steps. Note that you should start with SAS Viya version 2023.10 to display all entries in the SAS Applications menu in English.

  1. Connect to SAS Environment Manager.
  2. Select Configuration.
  3. Search for Application Registry service, and then select the results.
  4. On the right tab, edit the sas.appregistry section
  5. Choose Add property. Then, add the following:
