SAS® Electronic Software Delivery might require server exclusions to pass through a firewall

When using SAS® Download Manager to download a SAS software order, the following error might occur:

There is a problem with downloading hot fixes.

Please correct the problem and attempt to download the hot fixes again.

There is a problem with downloading hot fixes. Please correct the problem and attempt to download the hot fixes again.

You should ensure that you are using the most recent version of SAS Download Manager that is available from SAS Support Downloads

If the problem persists, you might need to provide server exclusions to allow SAS Download Manager to pass through a firewall. (This process is also known as allowlisting.) A qualified network administrator who manages the firewall should make the following exclusions on the network:

    HTTPS

HTTPS is the default protocol used. The communication goes over TCP port 443 using HTTPS protocol.

    HTTP

The communication goes over TCP port 80 using HTTP protocol.

Important: HTTPS is the default protocol used.

If you still want HTTP as your protocol, complete the following steps to use the HTTP protocol as the default instead:

  1. Run SAS Download Manager again.
  2. When the Choose Language prompt appears, do not click OK right away. While the Choose Language prompt is present, simply press and release the number 4 key on your keyboard.
  3. When you press 4, nothing seems to happen, and no prompt appears, but pressing 4 tells SAS Download Manager to use HTTP only.
  4. Then, click OK and proceed with the download.

Note: If an HTTP Proxy Information panel is displayed when you use SAS Download Manager, see SAS Note 63447, "The 'HTTP Proxy Information' panel might appear while you are using SAS® Download Manager."
