In conjunction with SAS KB0036231, the following list documents the settings that are used to optimally configure the SAS Pooled Workspace Servers and SAS Stored Process Servers for use with SAS Customer Intelligence:
To begin, open SAS® Management Console and make the following recommended settings:
SAS Pooled Workspace Server Settings:
1. Navigate to Server Manager ► SASApp ► SASApp – Logical Pooled Workspace Server ► right-click and select the Load Balancing tab.
Note: Your server context (SASApp) might have a different name.
Balancing algorithm: Most Recently Used
Availability timeout (sec): 3600
2. Navigate to Server Manager ► SASApp ► SASApp – Logical Pooled Workspace Server ► SASApp –Pooled Workspace Server ► right-click and select the Options tab ► Advanced options button ► Load Balancing tab.
Note: Your server context (SASApp) might have a different name.
Launch timeout (sec): 3600
Recycle activation limit: 0
Server process maximum: 30
The property is Number of available workspace server sessions
Server process minimum: 1
Inactive process shutdown timeout (sec): 600
SAS Stored Process Server Settings:
1. Navigate to Server Manager ► SASApp ► SASApp – Logical Stored Process Server ► SASApp – Stored Process Server.
Note: Your server context (SASApp) might have a different name.
SAS recommends that you set up 30 or 40 MultiBridge settings.
2. Navigate to Server Manager ► SASApp ► SASApp – Logical Stored Process Server ► right-click and select the Load Balancing tab.

3. Navigate to Server Manager ► SASApp ► SASApp – Logical Stored Process Server ► SASApp – Stored Process Server ► right-click and select the Options tab ► Advanced Options button ► Load Balancing tab.

As a reminder, these are suggestions only for SAS Customer Intelligence (which includes SAS® Customer Intelligence Studio, SAS® Campaign Management and SAS® Real-Time Decision Manager). You need to continue to monitor the system. If there are issues with the SAS Stored Process Server or the SAS Pooled Workspace Server, you might need to increase some of these settings.
