If your SAS 9.2 deployment includes SAS Web applications, it is important that you back up the SAS Content Server when you back up the SAS^® Metadata Server, as follows:

• Stop either the appropriate server application, per the following criteria:
  • If you are using an IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment or an Oracle WebLogic Server, then you must stop the SAS Content Server application.
  • If you are using a JBoss application server, then you must stop the Web application server.
• Use system commands or third-party tools to copy all of the files and subdirectories from SAS-configuration-directory\Lev1\AppData\SASContentServer\Repository to your back-up location.

  Note: You might want to use the WebDAVDump and WebDAVRestore utilities in cases where you want to back up only some of the content or where you create a back-up to move to an incompatible system (for example, a server system other than the SAS Content Server).
