SAS® Enterprise Guide® might display "Missing MS Office component" when you attempt to import Microsoft Access data

When you import Microsoft Access data into SAS Enterprise Guide, the bitness of the two applications must match. So, if SAS Enterprise Guide is 64-bit, then you must have the 64-bit version of Microsoft Office. Conversely, if you have 32-bit Microsoft Office, then you must have the 32-bit version of SAS Enterprise Guide. When the bitness of the two applications does not match (for example, you have 32-bit Microsoft Office and 64-bit SAS Enterprise Guide), you might see the following error when you attempt to import a Microsoft Access database file:

Missing MS Office component – The selected file appears to be a Microsoft Access 2007 or later file.
In order to access the data contained within this file, one of two MS products must be installed
on this windows client machine:

1. Microsoft Access 2007 or later
2. Microsoft’s 2007 or later Office System (ACE) Dr

This error can also occur when Microsoft Access and SAS Enterprise Guide are both 64-bit. Specifically, this occurs if Microsoft Access was installed as part of Office365 because Office365 does not install the Microsoft ACE driver by default. This driver is used by SAS Enterprise Guide to import Microsoft Access data. To resolve this issue, you must manually download and install the 64-bit version of the Microsoft ACE driver from the Microsoft website.
