The "HTTP Proxy Information" panel might be displayed while you are using SAS® Download Manager

When you use SAS Download Manager, an HTTP Proxy Information panel might open.

HTTP Proxy Information panel with text boxes for HTTP Server and Port

The panel can appear because of new functionality that began in SAS® Download Manager 2.06. Previous versions of SAS Download Manager used HTTP only, so HTTP was the default. SAS Download Manager 2.06 has both HTTP and HTTPS capabilities, and HTTPS is now the default.

To work around this issue, complete the following steps to use the HTTP protocol as the default instead:

  1. Run SAS Download Manager again.
  2. When the Choose Language prompt appears, do not click OK right away. While the Choose Language prompt is present, press and release the number 4 key (located along the top of your main keyboard).
  3. When you press 4, nothing seems to occur, and no prompt appears, but pressing 4 tells SAS Download Manager to use HTTP only.
  4. Then, click OK and proceed with the download.
  5. The download should proceed normally, and the HTTP Proxy Information panel should not be displayed.

Note: If the HTTP Proxy Information panel persists in opening, you might need to provide server exclusions in an allowlisting process.

For more information, see SAS KB0036237, “SAS® Electronic Software Delivery might require server exclusions to pass through a firewall.”
